1. Agreement
This Professional Agreement applies when you create or maintain a professional profile, receive project information, contact customers, or obtain business opportunities through Hire Local Expert. It supplements the Terms of Use.
2. Independent business
You operate an independent business and are not our employee, agent, partner, franchisee, or representative. You control whether to accept work, pricing, schedule, methods, tools, personnel, and business expenses.
3. Accurate profile information
You must provide truthful, current, and complete information regarding identity, business name, experience, services, service area, photographs, licenses, insurance, certifications, and references. You must promptly update expired or changed information.
4. Licenses, permits, and insurance
You are solely responsible for determining and maintaining every license, registration, permit, bond, and insurance policy required for your work and location. Display of information on the Platform is not approval or legal advice.
5. Employees and subcontractors
You are responsible for workers, subcontractors, payroll, taxes, workers’ compensation, supervision, background checks, training, safety, and compliance with employment and immigration laws.
6. Customer communications
You may use customer information only to respond to legitimate project requests and provide related services. You may not sell contact details, send unrelated spam, harass customers, or use information for deceptive or unlawful purposes.
7. Estimates and contracts
You are responsible for inspecting projects as appropriate and providing accurate estimates and written contracts required by law. You must clearly disclose fees, deposits, exclusions, change-order procedures, cancellation terms, warranties, and material limitations.
8. Performance and safety
You must perform accepted work professionally, safely, lawfully, and consistently with your agreement. You are responsible for property protection, permits, code compliance, cleanup, and correction of your work.
9. Payments and taxes
You are responsible for invoicing, collecting payment, refunds, charge disputes, taxes, and financial records. Hire Local Expert does not guarantee that a customer will hire or pay you.
10. Reviews and reputation
You may not create, purchase, trade, or manipulate reviews. You may request an honest review but may not condition a discount or benefit on a positive review without lawful disclosure.
11. Leads and opportunities
We do not guarantee a minimum number of requests, responses, customers, jobs, revenue, or geographic exclusivity. A project request may be inaccurate, canceled, sent to multiple professionals, or produce no work.
12. Account action
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access based on complaints, safety concerns, suspected fraud, false information, expired credentials, legal risk, or violations. We are not required to disclose confidential reports or investigative methods.
13. Indemnification and insurance
You agree that the disclaimers, liability limitations, and indemnification provisions in the Terms apply to your services and business. You should maintain liability and other insurance appropriate for your work.
